OUR MEETS

Various levels of competition are catered for at Torquay Leander and training tailored to suit, from in-house fun galas to local, county and regional competitions.

IN HOUSE COMPETITONS

Every year we hold in-house ribbon galas and club championships where swimmers can get a taste for competing in a safe, familiar environment.

LOCAL OPEN MEETS

Local Level 3 meets held at other swimming venues are designed to allow swimmers to qualify for the county or regional championships. These are a great way of gaining experience at competing in an unfamiliar environment and competing against swimmers from other clubs.

TEAM COMPETITIONS

Are competitions where swimmers are selected to compete for the club as a team against other clubs, rather than individually. Swimmers will be selected to swim certain events for the best possible team outcome.

COUNTY AND REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

County championships are usually held in January/ February. Our qualifying swimmers enter the Devon County Championships where swims from March through to December usually qualify.

The regional championships cover the whole of the south west. It’s split into two age groups which are held over three weekends in May. The qualifying times are tougher and the qualifying window opens at the beginning of October.
