MEMBERSHIP OF TORQUAY LEANDER
As a club that has been around for many years, we have had many generations of the same family return to swim at Torquay Leander because we pride ourselves on being a friendly, approachable, fun yet competitive swimming club.
We rely on our volunteers both coaches and parents, to do their bit whereever possible, whether that is running the tuck shop (not during Covid unfortunately), volunteering on the committee, poolside helpers and selling raffle tickets being just a few, there is a job for everybody.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEES
Every swimmer at the club must be a member of Torquay Leander and also be a member of Swim England. This membership ensures insurance coverage and allows swimmers to compete and is managed by Torquay Leander – the annual club membership fee includes Swim England membership. The TL Club Membership fee is reviewed annually by the Finance Committee and the rate for the upcoming 12 months communicated to all Club members at the start of each calendar year. Annual membership fees are due by 31st January every year and any swimmer who has not renewed their membership by that date will not be permitted to swim.
For a swimmer that transfers from another swimming club to TL during the course of 12 months and already has Swim England membership, a reduced TL membership fee will be payable upon joining. They will then be required to renew their Swim England Membership via TL in the following January in line with this policy.
For a swimmer that joins TL after 1st October in any given year, the annual membership fee will be reduced.
Standard
Annual Membership- Standard annual membership – due by 31st January every year.
Second Club
Annual Membership- Annual membership fee if transferring from another club.
Part Year
Membership fee- Annual membership fee if joining after 1st October in any given year.
Reactivation
Membership Fee- Re-activation membership when membership has lapsed during the year.
MONTHLY SWIMMING FEES
Monthly subscription payments must be made by direct debit set up via Club Organiser. This ensures consistency and simplifies the exercise of cross checking payment. Monthly subscriptions are based on the number of hours swum per week and are reviewed annually by the Finance Committee.
These monthly subscriptions represent the annual subscription charge broken down into 12 equal monthly installments and as such are due for every month of membership, regardless of holiday, illness or any other short term absence, interruptions to regular sessions as a result of galas and annual club shutdown periods at Christmas and during the summer.
