LEARN TO SWIM
Torquay Leander is a competitve swimming club, we do not teach ‘learn to swim’ within club sessions. However we work closely with Swim Torquay Instructors who provide the Learn to Swim sessions at our pool. Swim Torquay have a team of qualified swimming teachers and coaches plus a number of poolside assistants who work with the children to provide high quality tuition and support.
Learn to Swim sessions, provide important life skills for children to stay safe in the water, teaching national swim stages, giving children the skills to be confident swimmers who are able to progress on to our swim squads. Many swimmers progress through these stages before beginning their journey with us.

LEARN TO SWIM STAGES
The Learn to Swim Stage 1-7 Awards are divided into progressive stages. They make up the core, national syllabus of learning to swim for primary school aged children.
They are designed to reward your child for their development of the essential aquatic skills they need to be confident, competent and safe in the water.
Each of the Learn to Swim Stage 1-7 Awards has a list of clear outcomes that need to be completed in order to gain each Award.
